The Active building EPC business model aims to integrate the performance-based and output driven elements of existing Energy Performance Contracting for public and private buildings with performance-based Flexibility based on Demand Response (DR) services. From the business concept, through the value chain, the role and interaction of the stakeholders, to the business model itself, we are exploring the opportunity that this new generation EPC model has to offer. Particular attention is given to the ways to valorize flexibility within the scope of EPC in buildings and the interaction between ESCOs and market aggregators of flexibility.
In this webinar, Lieven Vanstraelen, from Energinvest, will present early findings on the development of the business concept and model, as well as new insights on the roles of the market actors. This includes the results from a stakeholder survey of both flexibility requestors (typically DSOs/TSOs) and flexibility providers (typically ESCOs). It also includes early results from a desktopstudy on business models, market actor’s roles and specifically on Measurement and Verification (M&V) for the new AEPC model. In addition to the presentations, there will also be interaction with participants, through polling, a discussion with participating stakeholders and a Q&A session.
The target audiences for this webinar are: ESCOs, DSOs/TSOs, DR/flexibility aggregators, EPC project facilitators, policy makers involved in energy services or building renovation and other people interested in the Active building EPC model.
